The Deckband hub, common to Leisure and Professional formats, can connect up to 6 headsets in handsfree, always-on, crystal clear communication. A Quick Pair option allows rapid set-up of the network. Special ports to the rear allow for connection to DC power, NMEA and VHF. The USB port at the side connects to a 4-point USB charger for the headsets, and a seventh wired audio user can connect at the side. The keypad allows for friendly naming of headsets, and for switching of crew members between Talk, Listen and Monitor (MOB only) modes. The timeout for MOB can be varied to suit conditions and operations. Volume can be tuned at the hub or at the headset. Current GPS data can be displayed at the touch of a button if connected into the boat's information network. Deckband Professional is geared to the professional user and/or the larger vessel, with stronger communication range supporting vessels up to 25m or of heavier construction, or supporting marine operations involving boarding adjacent vessels. The DeckMate headsets supplied have a 12+ hour talk time and are used in conjunction with a wired earbud with inline microphone. DeckMates are capable of operating as a pair for super-extended range. This DeckDuo connection operates on a different Bluetooth protocol to the standard Deckband connection, and allows connection of up to 500 metres in clear air. However, the MOB function becomes disabled for the duration of this connection which is bilateral between two headsets, rather than multipoint via the Deckband hub. The package includes mains 230v and 12v cigar socket power supplies, a multipoint USB charger for up to 4 headsets at a time, an additional wired audio connection for the nav station, and cables to assist with NMEA 0183 and VHF audio input installation.
